Hocus Pocus Simple Snack Tray

Updated: Aug 23

This weekend we watched the original Hocus Pocus in anticipation of the sequel. We made this simple snack tray. I loved the way it turned out and I would definitely bring this to a viewing party for a sequel. For more ideas, read Hocus Pocus Party Food.

Ingredients:

Popcorn

Kelloggs Hocus Pocus 2 Cereal

Utz Halloween Pretzels

Candy Corn

Purple, Orange, and Yellow Melting Candy

Amounts depend on size of your platter.

Supplies:

Platter

Directions:

  1. Melt chocolate. The amount is going to depend on the size of your alphabet trays. I melted about 3 cups per color in the microwave. I usually do 30 seconds stir, then repeat until fully melted. I know some people do 50% power, but I haven't found that necessart. I did one color at a time. I made H, U, O, S in purple. Then, C,S, P, U orange and O and C yellow. After pouring the chocolate into the mold, I usually freeze for about 5-10 minutes to speed up the hardening. I popped each set out about 15 minutes after pouring. This step can be done well prior to serving. I recommend this in case it takes longer than expected, I did break 1 or 2 letters and had to remake them. Just store chocolate at room temp in a sealed bag.

  2. Pop popcorn. We popped ours on the stove with coconut oil. Are popped is also great. We steer clear or microwave popcorn due to the chemicals in the bag. For more on that read, How Safe is Microwave Popcorn?

  3. Assemble.

Happy Halloween!
